Full Details
MEDLINE is a Full-text version of PubMed, the U.S. National Library of Medicine journal citation database covering medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. This version includes citations from 5,200 scholarly journals and full-text from more than 1,450. Its articles have been assigned MeSH (Medical subject headings) indexing within a tree hierarchy of subheadings and explosion capabilities. You can use this as an alternative way to search for articles, see the guide to Subject searching.
PubMed vs MedLine. Some people find the search easier in Pubmed and it searches wider content but it does not provide full-text, just occasional links to freely available content. MEDLINE is better for targeted Medical subject searching (has better indexing) and quick access to the full-text content.
