If you use asterisks to replace letters that appear at the end of a word, make sure the number of asterisks corresponds to the number of letters at the end of the word eg. transplant** would find "transplant", "transplanted", and "transplanter".
Search for special characters e.g. Greek spellings, chemical notations. Varying methods in which to search for author names using connectors.
