Popups and pop up windows
There are good reasons for your web browser to block pop-up windows and this is usually to stop intrusive adverts from creating their own browser session and recording all of the web pages you visit in your main window. Because of this, most modern web browsers will automatically block all pop-ups until you tell them not to.
You may need to re-enable pop-ups for specific sites to support your studies. These could include the following sites and any others that open up new content in a new window:
- Head Start in Blackboard
- Ebooks (VLeBooks and others)
- ICON
- OneDrive

Safari for OSX has no per-website control over blocking pop-up windows. Pop-ups are either blocked, or they are not. To allow pop-ups:
- From the Safari menu, choose Preferences... and click the Security tab.
- Ensure the Block pop-up windows option is not checked. Unchecking this option will allow pop-ups.
- To block pop-ups once again, check the Block pop-up windows checkbox.
