Non-Medical Help
The University of Cumbria can provide non-medical help using specialist learning advisors located across the campuses. These sessions are designed with you, to work on aspects of university academics and wider university life that meet your needs.
Non-medical help can be provided by the university without a clinical diagnosis. We consider the barriers you are facing and work with you to overcome them.
If you have a disability support plan, non-medical help can be listed as a reasonable adjustment for up to 12 sessions (this can be extended if needed). Sessions can be delivered either in-person or online. To book a session click here.
Students who get Disability Support Allowance (DSA), may have non-medical help listed following a detailed assessment by a DSA approved assessor. This information will be shared with you in your "DSA 2" letter following the assessment. It will name the non-medical help provider and may not be the university. To begin the support, you will need to contact the provider and arrange your sessions to suit your course and other commitments. If you are not happy with your provider, you can request this to be changed by contacting the DSA assessor, Studytech assessments@study.tech
If you have any queries regarding the support service, please contact us on disabilityservices@cumbria.ac.uk
