Placement
The University of Cumbria recognises placement learning as being a core component of its programmes whilst being a fundamental element that prepares students for their future career. Programmes have been specifically designed to meet professional body requirements (where appropriate) in conjunction with our placement partners across the North of England and beyond.

Placements are undertaken in carefully selected and quality assured settings, supported by committed University Partnership Tutors, Link Tutors and Practice Assessors and Supervisors. This support structure enables student development throughout their programme to achieve the expected requirements, learning outcomes and assessment processes.
We take particular pride in the partnership arrangements that we have with Schools, NHS Trusts, Private, Independent and Voluntary Sector placement providers, Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Lake District National Park to support all of our students whilst out on placement. Finance
Please find below the details of the IT software that will have restricted access should your tuition fees not be paid in a timely manner as per our regulations. You will receive a letter from the Finance Team advising your if a block is going to actioned giving you 7 days to arrange payment.
Please follow this link to view our Student Financial Regulations, which sets out information students need to ensure they are fully aware of in regards to the payment of your tuition fees. These are the regulations you agreed to when you commenced your course.

Freedom of Speech Code of Practice
The University is committed to the principles of Academic freedom, free enquiry and of free speech within the law. The University recognises that in discharging its duty to promote these principles rigorous debate is perfectly proper and acceptable, and as a university community we must therefore secure freedom of speech on a wide range of ideas, views and opinions on all potential issues of interest to the University community including social, economic, political and religious issues, however unorthodox, unpopular, uncomfortable, or controversial. However any action, publication or speech must be lawful in line with UK Law.

The Student Protection Plan is a requirement for all universities registered with the Office for Students (OfS). The Higher Education and Research Act 2017 requires all higher education providers to produce and publish a Student Protection Plan which articulates how a provider will preserve the continuation and quality of study for students.
