APTEM Apprenticeship System

APTEM is our apprenticeship system which ensures you are correctly onboarded onto the apprenticeship programme and funded through the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). APTEM is also used to show you are actively involved in your learning and allow the university to draw down the funding for your apprenticeship.

APTEM will be used throughout your apprenticeship to evidence your progress such as the recording of your off-the-job hours (OTJH), Tripartite Reviews (TPRs) and other key milestones for you to progress to your End Point Assessment (EPA) and successfully pass your apprenticeship. APTEM is configured in different ways for different people and so often varies by apprentice to reflect their personal learning requirements.

If you have any issues with the system or your profile, then email aptem@cumbria.ac.uk who will investigate. If you have forgotten your password, please ask for a password reset via the system login function.

  • Multi factor Authentication for APTEM

The University of Cumbria currently has a priority objective of maintaining Cyber Essentials Accreditation and aims to have Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed, industry-supported certification scheme that outlines a set of basic technical controls that all organisations should implement to defend against the most prevalent forms of cyber-attacks.

A key element of Cyber essentials is making all systems used by the university to hold student data more secure using Multi Factor Authentication and/or Single Sign On (SSO)

Increased access security in APTEM will be achieved using Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) -This involves users accessing the system needing to enter a second randomly generated code in addition to their password at the log in stage. This will be achieved by users receiving a code sent to a pre agreed e-mail or telephone number.

Multi factor Authentication in APTEM will be implemented for all users from Monday 28th October 2024.

Your authenticator e-mail will go to the e-mail address that is registered in your APTEM account so you will need to consider what e-mail account your logged into when accessing APTEM
