Do One Thing Banner,

November can be a tricky time for students. The homesickness, the shorter days and the stress of deadlines can feel overwhelming. We get it! That's why we're launching our 'Do One Thing' campaign. Sometimes the best way to tackle those big challenges is to break them down into smaller steps. Whether it's joining one society, attending one workshop, or reaching out to one person - every journey starts with a single step. 

 

All that matters is that you achieve just one thing that helps.

    Feeling overwhelmed by a whole assignment? Use the Pomodoro technique to write a paragraph.
     
    Working backwards from deadline to today, work out what priority tasks need completing each day to hit the deadline. Create a timetable/plan of your priorities.

  • Come to a Centering Prayer session

    Come to a Centering Prayer session 12 noon, every Wednesday St Martins chapel (Lancaster campus). 20 minutes of silent meditation with brief introduction. After the session, stay for informal chats and events. Bring your own lunch.

  • Ask a 'silly' question

     

    We’re far enough into the term that you might feel like you’ve left if too late to find out some of the basics, but that’s not true!

     

    Not sure who your personal tutor is? Got an assignment due but don’t know how to use Blackboard/turn-it-in? Still using google and avoiding OneSearch? Finding it hard to read and understand your timetable? Feel like you’ve got loads of questions but have left it too late to ask? 

     

    Don’t let the fear of asking a “silly” question stand it your way; ask it today.
