History
Green Minds began as a staff-student gardening initiative back in 2018. As a group, we've created a poppy flower displays for the First World War Centenary, dug new flower beds across the campus, created the Outdoor Classroom near Cafe Martineau, and developed orienteering and wildlife trails.
Now we're looking to bring alive some of the tired and neglected areas below with fresh planting and new ideas.

Want to join our friendly student and staff gardening group?
We want to turn the unloved corners of our campus into beautiful garden spaces and we need your help!
- Drop in to our short lunchtime sessions across campus - gloves and tools provided
- Reap the wellbeing and mood-boosting benefits of spending time in nature
- Learn new gardening skills from our small team - no experience necessary
For more information or to register your interest, email tom.langridge@cumbria.ac.uk or ask about Green Minds at our Student Enquiry Point in the Lancaster Campus Library.
