    Finding a graduate job if you have a disability 

    If you have a disability or long-term health condition, the Careers & Employability Service can offer additional support on finding inclusive employers, disclosure and requesting reasonable adjustments.

  • Graduate Schemes

     

    Graduate programmes are structured training schemes for recent graduates offering practical experience and often mentorship. Programmes last between one to three years and include rotations through different departments allowing you to gain a broad understanding of the company and find your area of interest.  

    80% of Graduate Schemes do not request a specific subject to apply. They might request that you have a 2:1 grade or above but you will need to check each scheme for their requirements.

  • Don't Want to Work In Your Subject Sector? What Are Your Options?

     

    Many graduate jobs are not tied to specific degree subjects, so there are many options you could consider.

  • Help Finding a Graduate Job

     

    Networking can be an effective way to get a job, find out more about a particular career and build up useful contacts.  Have a look at our section on Networking.

    You can also talk to a member of the careers team.  Career appointments are online via MS Teams or by phone. We can meet you in person at some campuses - please check the bookings calendar for our availability.   

    Once you graduate, you can continue to access careers support for up to three years after graduation. Once your course has finished, you'll receive an email to covert your student account to a graduate one.
