University Services and Facilities over Christmas

Whilst the core University services will be not be available during the University’s period of closure, the Student Enquiry Point is available to signpost you to useful resources. If you still need help and submit a query, you will receive a response after the university reopens on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

University online systems such as Blackboard, email, OneDrive, Student Hub, Staff Hub, Ask a Librarian, OneSearch and the University website will be available through the holiday season.

Please be aware that if you try to contact any of the core University services via email or telephone, you will not receive a response until the university reopens on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. These include student and support services such as:

Uoc Active/Sports Facilities - The sports Facilities in Lancaster and Carlisle will be closing at 5pm on the 22nd December and re-opening on the 2nd January. Ambleside will close at 5pm on the 15th December and re-open at 8am on the 2nd January. Our Partner facilities will be open during our festive closure. As campuses get quieter either side of the Christmas period and face to face teaching is limited on campus, our catering outlets have altered their opening times accordingly:

		From 15 December until 22 December reduced opening hours 8.30am – 3pm, with no pre-made sandwiches, however paninis and hot snacks will still be served
Lancaster	The View	Closed Friday 15 December to Monday 8 January
	Starbucks	Closed Friday 15 December to Monday 8 January
	Cafe Martineau	Closed from Friday 22 December to Tuesday 2 January
		From 15 December until 22 December reduced opening hours 8.30am – 3pm, with no pre-made sandwiches, however paninis and hot snacks will still be served
London	The Conservatory	Closed Friday 15 December to Tuesday 2 January
