One-to-one appointments with learning advisers can be made at the main campuses.

These appointments can relate to enquiries in the areas of Academic Skills, Digital Skills and Library and Information Literacy Skills. Please try to identify your area before booking at the library desk.

Come into the Library on your campus, or telephone (Carlisle 01228 616218, Lancaster 01254 590871).  Staff have access to all the available appointments for the Learning Advisers, so you should be able to find a date and time which is convenient to you.

If you are studying at a distance, at a Gateway campus, or are on placement (eg Ambleside, London or Workington) please use our email guidance service.

The initial advice and information appointment lasts for 30 minutes and is an opportunity for you to identify and discuss the areas you need to develop.

The outcome of the appointment is to agree a number of action points that may include:

  • accessing online materials
  • attending skills development workshops
  • in some cases an entitlement to one or more tutorial/guidance sessions with an adviser.

You can only book one appointment at a time; follow-up appointments may be recommended by advisers as part of the actions agreed at the initial appointment.
