Turnitin Logo 2022, Turnitin is updating in 2022 and you may notice some minor changes to how your submission links look. The big changes are happening in the background and one of these means that older submissions to Turnitin will no longer be available to you soon.

Submissions to Turnitin made before September 2022 will remain accessible initially, however, continued access to these submissions will only be short term; therefore, if you want to retain a copy of your previous Turnitin assignments please download them now and store them somewhere safe, such as on your OneDrive.

We are recommending that you download them now, whilst you can. See the walkthrough below.

You can now see and try the new Turnitin route via the ‘Turnitin Test Area’ within Blackboard.

Alongside the usual four submission points using the current Turnitin, there are four additional submission points that use the new Turnitin route. You’ll find the link to the ‘Turnitin Test Area’ from the ‘Academic Skills’ section of the ‘Students’ tab on Blackboard.

Download your marked assignments

Note: You will need to follow this process for each assignment that you want to download.

  1. 1. Login to Blackboard via the Student Hub
  2. 2. Go to the first module you want to download your previous assignment(s) from
  3. 3. Locate the Assessment / Turnitin Assignment that you want a copy of
  4. 4. Click on the View button:

  5. 5. Your submitted paper should open with the marking and feedback visible. If it does not show the tutor feedback, you can enable this feature by clicking on the black Layers button (top right of the window) and tick the Grading option:

  6. 6. With Grading visible, you can now download your submission by clicking on the Download button at the right-hand side of the screen:

  7. 7. You will be given a few options for the download - choose Current View which will download a PDF copy of your assignment with your tutor's feedback attached:

Download your Originality Reports

Note: You will need to follow this process for each Originality Report that you want to download.

This process follows the same first 3 steps as downloading your marked assignments, so if you want the Originality Reports for your marked assignments it would be quicker to download both at the same time.

  1. 1. Login to Blackboard via the Student Hub
  2. 2. Go to the first module you want to download your previous assignment(s) from
  3. 3. Locate the Assessment / Turnitin Assignment that you want a copy of
  4. 4. Click on the % Similarity:

  5. 5. Your submitted paper should now open with the Similarity highlighted. If it does not highlight Similarity, you can enable this feature by clicking on the black Layers button (top right of the window) and tick the Similarity option:

  6. 6. With Similiarity visible, you can now download your submission by clicking on the Download button at the right-hand side of the screen:

  7. 7. You will be given a few options for the download - choose Current View which will download a PDF copy of your assignment with your tutor's feedback attached:

Note: You can actually see Feedback and Similarity on the same report. At Step 5, simply tick both Grading and Similarity. This version can also be downloaded.
