Event Overview
On Wednesday 2nd December, from 1-4pm, staff and students have the opportunity to join an online session alongside partner representatives, delivered by Communities Inc. As part of our White Ribbon action plan (hosted at White Ribbon UK Accreditation - University of Cumbria) and in-keeping with our focus to prevent harassment and sexual misconduct as noted at Healthy Relationships Hub | MyCumbria , we wanted to provide preventative and empowering training for our community. We particularly welcome male attendees to join this training, noting that whilst all men are absolutely not part of the problem, they can be part of the solution as a true ally.
Space is limited, so please email Laura Dakin via laura.dakin@cumbria.ac.uk to book on. As the event is hosted by Communities Inc, your email address will be shared with them to enable them to add you to the session.
Full details on the session can be found via Stand by Her - Ending Men's Violence Against Women., with the session content focussing on:
- learning about men's negative attitudes and behaviours and the impact they have on women
- increasing confidence to be a more effective ally
- developing strategies and skills to act safely and effectively
- working on real-life scenarios
- receive a certificate
