Walk and Talk for White Ribbon (London)

Event Overview

Join us for a short community walk to show our support for White Ribbon and its commitment to ending men’s violence against women and girls.

Wednesday 25th November 12-2pm

Meet Point: London- Reception

We’ll walk around the local area, providing an opportunity to come together, reflect and raise awareness of the importance of creating safer communities for everyone. The walk will be followed by coffee and refreshments, giving everyone a chance to socialise and continue the conversation.

The White Ribbon is the globally recognised symbol to end men’s violence against women and girls. Since the inception of the White Ribbon movement 34 years ago in Canada, the White Ribbon has become an important symbol in the fight to end gender-based violence.

Allyship is a central message of the White Ribbon; it represents men taking responsibility to challenge this issue and being allies, every day, to stop violence against women and girls before it starts.

Along the walk we’ll also share some key facts and information to help us understand the scale of the issue and consider the role we can all play in creating a culture of respect, equality and safety. The walk isn’t therapy, but it’s a space to walk, talk and reflect on what White Ribbon means to you, while finding out more about the movement, why it was started, and the importance of creating safer, more respectful communities.

Everyone is welcome to join us. Whether you come along to show your support, learn something new, or simply take part in the walk and conversation, we hope you’ll join us in standing together for a safer future.
