What is PEM?

The PEM (Postgraduate, Early- & Mid-career) Researcher Network is a new network within the Faculty of Health. It is open to all researchers who identify as PEM in any research area. This inclusive, peer-led network aims to support postgraduate, early and mid-career researchers through opportunities for connection, collaboration and career development. It is being supported by the University's Mental Health Leaders Award Team.

For the 26/27 academic year, each month PEM will host an online lunchtime session, alternating between ‘skills' sessions (supporting the development of research skills) and ‘connect’ sessions (sharing our applied research experiences and learning about each others' work). PEM will also facilitate online writing sessions throughout the year. The aim is to create a supportive community of researchers across the Faculty that helps everyone to progress their research interests and ideas, no matter what stage they are at.

We are in the process of setting up a SharePoint page for PEM. In the meantime, if you would like to join the network, please sign up here: Join the Faculty of Health PEM Researcher Network! – Fill in form

You can also get in touch with Jo if you have any questions (joanne.hickmandunne@cumbria.ac.uk).
