Your APTEM Learning plan will include four mandated e-learning packages which should be completed within the first 6 weeks of your programme. These are detailed below.  Whilst some apprentices may have done similar training through work these are designed and focused on you being an apprentice with the University and how you conduct yourself on programme.

  • Safeguarding

Safeguarding (including Prevent) is everyone’s responsibility. Safeguarding is the process of protecting health, wellbeing and human rights of individuals – especially children, young people and vulnerable adults – to live free from abuse, harm and neglect, whether from crime, other forms of abuse or from being drawn into terrorism.”

    Please note:

This is NOT the information which outlines how to deal with an emergency situation.  If you have an emergency you should deal with it as such by calling 999, then report to the University via the StEP form.

For further guidance on how to respond to safeguarding concerns; what to do if you receive a disclosure; what happens if you have an allegation made against you, and useful links to other University protocols including support for you click here.

  • Prevent Training

    Prevent is everyone responsibility.

Prevent is part of the UK's counter-terrorism strategy, aiming to safeguard individuals from being drawn into terrorism or supporting extremist ideologies. It focuses on protecting vulnerable people, especially children, young people, and adults at risk from radicalisation and exploitation.

    Please note:

This guidance does not cover emergency situations. If you are dealing with an emergency, call 999 immediately. Afterward, report the incident to the University using the StEP form.

For further guidance on how to respond to Prevent-related concerns, including:
