Request a Letter

Programme Administration can support you with a variety of letters and documentation.

Visa students may request letters by completing the Letter Request Form.

Non-visa students may request letters by emailing Programme Administration or by submitting a request using the Student Enquiry Point tile on the Student Hub.

Important: please allow at least 2 working days for the preparation of letters or documents. Letters will be emailed to your student email address.

Confirmation of Student Status:

We can provide official letters to confirm your student status for purposes such as memberships or travel card applications. Once you are fully registered in your first year, a Confirmation of Registration letter will be issued to you. This letter will be reissued in subsequent years of your course, provided there are no outstanding issues with your registration.

Bank Letters:

If you need a letter to open a student bank account, particularly as an international student without a UK passport, the team can issue the appropriate letter to support your application.

Council Tax Exemption:

If you're a full-time, fully registered student and meet the eligibility criteria, a Council Tax Exemption letter will be emailed to you once your registration is complete. This letter should be submitted to your local Council Tax Office along with your bill.

If you move house, you'll need to request a new exemption letter. Please make sure your address details are up to date. Students living in university accommodation do not require this letter, but those in private halls do.

If you ever need the letter resent, we're happy to provide a new copy upon request.

Travel Cards:

The team can validate your railcard or travelcard application by stamping it to confirm your enrolment as a registered student at the university.
