Group Study Sessions

These sessions are particularly useful for motivation, focus, and overcoming procrastination.

pomodoro technique,

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that has been proven to boost productivity and improve study habits.  With the traditional Pomodoro technique, one work interval is 25 minutes long and is followed by a 5 to 10-minute break. You use these 25 minutes for pure, undistracted work where you stay 100% committed to the task at hand. And once your 25 minutes are up, you take your 5 to 10-minute break. You then repeat this about four times, and after that, you take a much longer break (here is when you can do some exercise, meditate, walk your dog, or take a nap).

An IFY Learning Developer will be on hand throughout the sessions if you have any questions or hit any roadblocks. Feel free to come along to as many of these as you like throughout the semester; drop in at any point during the time slot. You’re welcome to bring coffee and snacks to fuel your brain.

If the timing of these doesn’t work for you, why not try organising your own Pomodoro session with some classmates, or you can also use this technique when you’re studying alone.
