These apps allow you to log into your university account and read/edit your learning content and files in Blackboard, PebblePad, OneDrive, etc.

If you only install one app, please ensure that it is the Student Hub app as this provides direct access to all of the systems and services required to support your learning.

  • Student Hub

    studenthub_icon, student hub iconThe Student Hub provides a wide range of easy-to-use, personalised, University of Cumbria services, resources and information at your fingertips. Whether you are studying in Lancaster, Carlisle, Ambleside, London, Barrow or Workington you can access the app whenever you want, from wherever you are.

    • Blackboard – information for your studies, submit assignments, get feedback and take part in discussions

    When registering and using UoC Student Hub, your credentials are passed directly to the University of Cumbria and not shared with any third party.

  • Blackboard Student

    With the Blackboard app, you can:

    • Be notified of course and module announcements
    • Quickly view your courses and module content
    • Take assignments and tests
    • View grades for courses, assignments and tests

    Blackboard App help

    Some users have been encountering issues with some features of the Blackboard App. These issues are not device specific and may include items not loading correctly or notifications not working as expected.

    If you are having issues with certain app features, such as notifications, please make sure you are on the latest version of the app and check the help pages - https://help.blackboard.com/Blackboard_App

    If you are still getting issues, please report them directly to Blackboard via the Settings > Feedback section of the App.

  • Microsoft Teams

    Microsoft Teams allows voice & video over wireless, instant messaging, conferencing, and calling features from a single, easy-to-use interface.

    Key Features:
    -Initiate a group IM or video conversation and invite additional participants
    -Join, rejoin and initiate a Teams Meeting to communicate and collaborate on amazing ideas
    -Share your video and view speaker's video during a conference
    -Control the meeting
    -Look at your upcoming meetings and join via one click
    -Find your recent conversations and pick them up from where you left 
    -Search university contacts by name, email, or phone number

  • Linkedin Learning

  • Office 365 (OneDrive and Office Apps)

    Microsoft provide a range of productivity apps that work as part of your university Office 365 account.

    We recommend that you begin by installing and logging into the OneDrive App (choose OneDrive for Business in the login window) first. This will allow the other Office 365 Apps to associate themselves with this login and permit you to use Word, Excel, etc. to edit documents that you have stored in your university Personal Drive.

  • Way2Pay App (catering balance and top-up)

    - see the catering balance on your Cumbria Card

  • PebblePad (PebblePocket)

    pebblepocket_logo, pebble pocket logoYou can use the PebblePocket App to create assets and save them to your mobile device allowing you to work offline. Your assets can be sent to your PebblePad account when you next have an internet connection. 

    NB Don't save too many assets to your mobile device, as they cannot be retrieved if your mobile phone breaks or is lost/stolen.

    Supports the recording of the following asset types:

    * Blog Posts
    * Reflections (Journal Entry - What? So What? Now What? - Structured Reflection)
    * Experiences (Activity - Competency)
    * Photos
    * Videos

    It is much more useful to install the Blackboard Intructor App which provides you with more functionality and allows you to manage your courses from a mobile device.

    Office 365 / Outlook / SharePoint / Teams

    intune_logo, intune logoIn order for staff to use Office 365 / Microsoft Apps on a personal mobile device, the Microsoft InTune App needs to be installed and authenticated first. Please log into the StaffHub and search for InTune for the instructions.

    Installation of Intune will permit access to Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams.

    To open web links from an InTune associated app, you will also need to install Microsoft Edge from your app store and sign in to it using your UoC credentials.

    Pebble Pocket

    Pebble Pocket works in the same way for students and staff (see above for links). 

    Student Hub

    Because of security permissions and GDPR risks, which are specific to staff accounts in mobile apps, the Student Hub App may not function fully for you. To use the Student Hub on a mobile device, please login to the browser version at https://hub.cumbria.ac.uk
