Business resources

Welcome to the subject page for Business subjects.

These pages can point you in the direct of good quality information for your coursework. This information, purchased by us to support your assignments, is not freely available via the general Web.

Using freely available information via Google can still be a good source BUT it also requires you to judge the reliability of that information - so always check out who has written it, are ideas backed up by good sound evidence, does it have commercial bias? Find out more.

Business information can be found in:

  • textbooks inc. case studies
  • other books eg dictionaries
  • ebooks
  • journal and trade magazine articles
  • market sector reports
  • newspaper articles
  • company reports - annual reports, case studies, financial reports, SWOT analyses
  • country reports
  • statistics

These can be found:

  • by clicking on the resource sections below to find material bought by us specifically to support your studies
  • in our libraries
  • via Google

The key is to develop sound research skills. We will help you develop these skills in workshops arranged with your tutors. You can also seek these out for yourself via our Skills@cumbria pages, or try this VTS online tutorial on finding business information on the Internet.

Use OneSearch to find everything that the library has to offer including print books, electronic books, journals and more…
