    Social Work Associations in the UK 

    1. British Association of Social Workers (BASW)

    The main professional body for social workers in the UK.
     
    What it offers: 

    • Professional development and training 
    • Ethical guidance and advocacy 
    • Membership benefits including insurance and legal support 

    2.  Social Work England 

    The regulatory body for social workers in England. 

    What it does: 

    • Maintains the register of social workers 
    • Sets professional standards 
    • Investigates fitness to practise concerns 

    3. Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) 

    • Regulates social workers in Scotland. 

    4. Social Care Wales 

    • Regulates and supports social workers in Wales. 

    5. Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) 

    • Regulates the social work profession in Northern Ireland. 

     

    Psychology Associations in the UK 

    1. British Psychological Society (BPS)  
    The main professional and scientific body for psychology in the UK.
     

    What it offers: 

    • Accreditation of psychology degrees 
    • Professional development and CPD 
    • Divisions for clinical, educational, forensic, and other branches of psychology 
    • Ethical guidelines and publications 

    2. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) 

    The regulatory body for practitioner psychologists (e.g., clinical, counselling, educational). 

    What it does: 

    • Maintains the register of qualified psychologists 
    • Sets standards for education, training, and conduct
