How do I reference ebooks?

In the latest (10th) edition of Cite them Right, ebooks are referenced in the same format as print books.

Your reference would be:

  • Author/editor
  • Year of publication (in round brackets)
  • Title (in italics)
  • Edition (only include the edition number if it is not the first edition)
  • Place of publication: publisher

For example:
Corfield, R. (2010) Knockout job interview presentations. London: Kogan.

For more information on referencing see our Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism webpage. An online version of Cite them Right is, available in the ‘skills@cumbria’ tab on Blackboard or via the Eresources A-Z. Print copies of Cite them Right are also available at each University of Cumbria library.
