If you would like to have books posted out to you, we have a postal loan scheme.

Fees and registration

The postal loan scheme costs £25 per calendar year.

Payment is made through the online store.

Please allow one working day from making your payment for us to update your library account: we will then send you a confirmation email with a link to enable you to  download prepaid labels to return your books using the Collect+ service. If you pay on a Friday, over the weekend or on a bank holiday, your account will be updated on the afternoon of the next full working day.

Once your account is updated you will see 'home delivery' as an option when you are placing a book request through OneSearch. If you are ordering several books, they are likely to be sent out in more than one parcel, don't panic if they don't all arrive at once.

Sending books to you

Your books will be sent to the home address that you have registered at the university. Please ensure that your home address is correct in your student record. To check and/or amend your home address please go to the My Student Details tile in The Student Hub or log in directly to ICON: My student record

Returning books to us

You can return the books to any campus library when you are on campus, or return them through the prepaid collect+ service.

If you prefer you can post them back to us at:

Harold Bridges Library
University of Cumbria
Bowerham Road
Lancaster
LA1 3JD

We provide prepaid labels for the collect+ service but not for items sent in the post.

Please contact the library service with any questions by email library@cumbria.ac.uk or use the Ask a Librarian chat service.
